Disc 1

Island Hopping: Nearly two years after Pearl Harbor the Japanese Empire still controlled crucial island outposts in the Pacific.  Then the U.S. "island hopping" campaign struck decisive blows at battles with names like Tarawa, Bougainville, Saipan and Guam. (60 minutes).

Victory at Last:
General Douglas MacArthur's bold pledge, "I shall return" was fulfilled in October 1944 when American forces landed on the shores of Leyte in the Philippines.  Then it's on to Okinawa against the suicidal fury of kamikazes for the last great battle of the Pacific Campaign. (60 minutes).
